Hunky's Cedar Springs to Host Art Show and Auction Supporting Local Community During Pride Week

Hunky's Cedar Springs will host an Art Show & Auction on September 17, 2025, during Pride in Dallas Week. The event features custom portraits by Texas artist Becca Waugh that transform classic menu items into artistic representations of local celebrities. This initiative supports the Cedar Springs Merchant Association, which plays a vital role in strengthening the Oak Lawn community through neighborhood beautification, safety programs, and small business advocacy.

The auction will include portraits of CSMA board members and prominent Dallas personalities, such as Kevin Miller, Lee Daugherty, and Jason Preston from the association, alongside community figures like Leo Cusimano, Brad Pritchett, and Steve Kemble. These artworks, inspired by items like corn dogs and burgers, aim to celebrate local culture and raise funds for CSMA's efforts. The funds support events like the Cedar Springs Wine Walk and Clover Classic Golf Tournament, which directly benefit the neighborhood.

The event includes a VIP reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for invited guests and a general reception from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. open to the community. Attendees can enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and art demonstrations, with a suggested $10 donation at the door. Community partners such as Just Enough Wines, Planteray Rum, and Suerte Tequila have contributed to making the event possible, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the area.
