Dr. Thomas Price

Dr. Thomas (better known as Tommy) Price looks back at the last 7 years in Boerne and the impact Boerne ISD is having. We celebrate today's teachers, and learn about programs BISD has for people of all ages. The Community Leadership Academy. Ptech, and Incubator.edu are examples of the innovation Boerne ISD brings to our community. As Tommy wraps up his last year at BISD, he shares his plans for the future and why this is the right time to pass the torch.

Dr. Thomas Price has been an administrative leader in education for more than three decades. Starting in the classroom as a teacher, he then moved into the role of principal and eventually superintendent.

He served as Superintendent at Splendora, Sealy, and Anderson-Shiro ISD and as the Assistant Superintendent at Humble ISD before his time at Boerne ISD. Dr. Price has worked in Texas schools for his entire career in education.

Overcoming his own learning obstacles early in his education, Dr. Price earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston, and his Master of Education and Doctor of Education from Lamar University.

Dr. Price is set to retire in June 2024 after 37 years of service in public education. 

Preferring “Tommy” over Dr. Price, he uses his own personal story to inspire students to never give up. Tommy and Donna Price have three children, Christopher, Sean, and Savannah.
